DoBeco - An Artisanal Bakery Blending Design, Detail, and Daily Ritual

My long distance best friend and I, wanted our final brunch spot to feel special, a place that captured the ease of brunch while reflecting on both our styles. Do Beco turned out to be exactly that. An artisanal bakery rooted in authenticity, it balances calm neutrality with playful notes of terracotta orange and soft green. A palette that felt like the perfect blend of us.

The interior blends terracotta warmth with soft green tones, terrazzo flooring, and tiled counters, and a seamless connection between production and public. Creating a space that feels both natural and refined.

The design balances brightness with calm, carefully considered yet never overworked. Playful details soften the precision, from hand-illustrated menus to curated merchandise racks, and even the signature Do Beco chair displayed on the wall.

We ordered the sharing breakfast, flat whites, scrambled eggs with cheese, smoked salmon, bacon, whipped butter, pistachio crumb granola, fresh sourdough, and two artisanal pastries to end on a sweet note. A table that felt as carefully balanced as the interior, indulgent but light, simple but elevated.

Wanting something to take away, we purchased one of their T-shirts with hand-drawn graphics on the back. Soft green for Jenny and orange for myself, a shade myself and my partner Alex, both favour. We also walked out with a mocha to takeaway, the cup becoming one of my favourite details. The hand-drawn accents echoed the same warm orange tone, conveniently matching my top of choice.

Do Beco isn’t just a place to eat. It’s a space designed to slow down, connect, and savour the moment. The ideal final brunch with a long-distance best friend, a seamless blend of design, craft, and friendship, with little personal touches that make it unforgettable.
